What were you Thinking? Its not whether you win or lose, it's how you think the same. Feature

  • BOARD GAME
Don't stand out from the crowd. That's the object of this party game for any size group upwards of four. The more you think like everyone else, the better you score, even if it's the wrong answer. Players draw from packs of question cards, read the questions, and then the group answers them on paper. General interest questions--from science to film, geography to food--are broad enough for kids to play along, but diverse enough for adults. Some of the questions relate directly to the group, such as "Who here is most likely to compete in a marathon?" You have to come up with all your answers (sometimes up to five) before the timer runs out. Think like a lemming and you're sure to win. --Lynne Sampson

Harry Potter Mystery At Hogwarts Game

Harry Potter Mystery At Hogwarts Game Reviews

Other Picture

Harry Potter Mystery At Hogwarts Game Feature

  • Fun Harry Potter
  • great for problem solving strategies
Was it Ron Weasley with the Wingardium Leviosa spell in Filch's office? Or was it Draco Malfoy with the Alohomora spell in the Transfiguration class? If it seems that the Mystery at Hogwarts Game bears more than a passing resemblance to Clue, the classic detective game, you're not imagining things or under the spell of Goyle's Forgetfulness potion. With colorful and stylish game equipment, Mattel has melded the world of J.K. Rowling and Master Potter with the realm of the Brothers Parker and Professor Plum. Players move about the representation of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to determine which three cards are contained in Fluffy's folder. Additional features include a roaming ghost, which can send players back to Start, and certain Hogwarts emblems on the dice that allow a peek at opponents' cards. The Mystery at Hogwarts Game is an attractive and well-designed (if not exactly original) deduction game tie-in to the publishing phenomenon. It will amuse fans more partial to Miss Granger than Mr. Green. --Tony Mason No longer in production. Extremely limited quantities.

  • Traveling? Grab the trivia card box and race away the hours

For anyone who's ever sipped a cocktail ringside at a Sidney Leibowitz and Eydie Gorme dinner show, or saw Diane Earle and the Supremes on American Bandstand, have we got a board game for you. For The Record takes a standard '50s-through-'70s, multiple-choice trivia game and adds a touch of reverb here, a funky wah-wah pedal there, with categories including the above represented "Real Names," deceased rockers in "Rock n' Roll Eternity" and "One Hit Wonders." Players or teams complete a tour around the tongue-in-cheek board as they answer music trivia from decades past. But don't get sent to "Disco Purgatory," escape from which depends upon your knowledge of the complete oeuvre of Silver Convention, Yvonne Elliman, and that band that recorded the theme from the Richard Pryor movie "Which Way Is Up?" As we here at Amazon.com correctly answered that last one, we heard somebody say "Burn, Baby, Burn." --Tony Mason For anyone who's ever sipped a cocktail ringside at a Sidney Leibowitz and Eydie Gorme dinner show, or saw Diane Earle and the Supremes on American Bandstand, have we got a board game for you.
